The Dinner Dilemma

Okay so I know that this post is not going to be very exciting. You see I would like some help from all of you. Lately I have been feeling like I'm always making the SAME thing for dinner. This is getting really old, and I would love some suggestions. I would love to hear your ideas, so please leave comments so that my family can have a little variety.

I have a few recipes for you. I'll email some to you when I get a few minutes... but something I LOVE doing is just have Food Network on and get ideas off of that ;)

Okay, I am not much into food right now. In fact I am doing a very poor job of cooking for my family - dinner prep is just not settling with my stomach.

So in normal life I have a list of about 30 meals that I don't mind making and most of us like (meaning the parents like them) ;+)

So make a list of crock pot meals, aim for 3 chicken dishes, 3 kinds of soup, 1-3 pork dishes and then 1-3 beef dishes.

Next make a list of some casseroles you like or would like to try.

I learned from one family that they have 5 meals each week based around the meat such as: Monday chicken, Tuesday Fish, Wednesday Beef, Thursday Pork, Friday vegetarian. Then Saturday is leftovers and Sunday they eat out.

When I was organized we likee to do breakfast on Friday nights.

I have also done the cook ahead and freeze method - love that but it takes effort to plan and fill the freezer

I also planned out our breakfast and lunches so that each day of the week was the same week after week. It made the kids excited to know what to expect and it streamlined grocery shopping considerably.

When I feel bored I thumb through my cookbooks or search on allrecipes.com and find something new for regular ingredients.

And I always request recipes for meals that I love from a friend/potluck, etc.

Hope this helps, ask me if anything didn't make sense. Really if you just decide how you want to plan your meals then execute the plan, it just flows and makes it so easy! Plan it and follow it.

So suggesting PB&J, tuna fish, and ramen would probably get me de-listed as your cousin, right?

Yeah, I thought so. So I won't.
