Children are Gifts

I must take issue with the term 'a mere child,' for it has been my invariable experience that the company of a mere child is infinitely preferable to that of a mere adult.

Thought of the Day

If a cinder block can be weightless in space, would you want to kick it with your bare foot?

Today, I started doing things on my to-do list. Since we are going to be gone for a long period of time, Luke and I thought it would be a wise idea to have our mail forwarded. After looking into this today, on USPS web page, we have decided not to. I’m sure most of you are unaware that it’s almost 12.00 a week to have your mail sent to a different address. What I would like to know is why? When you move, and you have your mail forwarded to the new address, it is free. Why is having the same service done for only a short amount of time so much more expensive? I guess that I will just chalk this up to another wonder of the world an move on. I don’t really have the time to think about such things.

Only 45 days left

That’s right we will be leaving on sabbatical in 45 days. I’m very excited, but I have also started to make the first of many to do lists. I hope that as time goes on they will only get shorter.

I’m also going to add a thought/quote of the day every day until we leave for our trip. I thought this would be a fun way to pass the time. Of course I will still add any new or exciting information as it happens.

I hope that Mothers Day was a wonderful and relaxing day for all the Mothers. I enjoyed Mothers Day more this year than past years. I think I enjoyed the day so much because Morgan actually knew what Mothers Day meant (in a 3year old sort of way) so she was on her best behavior all day long. Why she can’t manage to do this everyday I don’t know. I guess that it would mean my job as a mom was done. Which I don’t think is ever the case.

I will leave you with the thought of the day:

Why is it that when you’re driving and looking for an address, you turn down the radio?

Life, it hasn’t been too exciting!

Well, I haven’t posted in awhile, mostly, because we haven’t been up to anything very interesting. Life at the Jenison house has been relatively uneventful. As May starts, I have mixed feelings about my weekly activities ending and sabbatical drawing near. On one hand, I’m very excited that Luke will have 8 weeks off this summer. On the other, I’m a little nervous to spend 8 weeks 24/7 with my husband. Don’t get me wrong. I love him, but I’m very used to our routine of him going to work. It’s also a little sad when BSF and MOMS come to a close for the summer. I look forward to those every week. I guess that I must make the most out of the last few weeks before summer.

The kids are doing great! Morgan is so fun to watch right now is she is very full of “IT,” and as she says, she’s “so hilarious.” She is getting so big. I think that she is going through a growing spurt, because none of her clothes fit anymore. I was hoping, the next time she grew, she would not only grow up but out a little too. However, I’m sad to say, that just hasn’t happened. She is still very thin. Morgan is taking gymnastics class on Tuesday mornings and loves her class. This week was the first time she did a bridge on her own. She is very excited about that. Well, moving on to Olivia, she is 6 and a half months old already. It’s hard to believe how time flies by. In the past few weeks, she has started to move a ton. She rolls everywhere and is always trying to keep up with Morgan. She is now getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. It’s great to watch her grow and see the excitement on her face as she learns new things about life.

I have posted a few new pictures taken in the last few weeks. Even if we haven’t been doing anything exciting, at least we have been taking pictures of the kids.
